Sound Design
As stated in our introduction, nothing can pull the audience out of a film experience more quickly than a poorly mixed soundtrack. At JS Music and Sound, we pay careful attention to every step of the sound design process to make sure the final product represents a cohesive "whole" that reflects the vision of the filmmakers. We are capable of creating the entire sound mix including dialogue editing, ADR, sound effects creation, foley, and final mixdown to full 5.1 surround. Delivery formats are also supported including DVD, Blu-ray, stereo, matrix surround, and discrete 5.1 channel mixes.

Noise Reduction / Dialogue Cleanup
Many low budget films are plagued by sound problems such as poorly matched dialogue levels, sudden changes in background noise ("room tone"), and barely understandable dialogue. Often location sound is marred by excessive noise - air conditioners, refrigerators, lawn mowers, etc. Usually when a noise is constant it is possible to remove most of it without destroying the fidelity of the original sound recording. JS Music and Sound has made a specialty of cleaning up even extremely noisy recordings. While many times we can extract acceptable to good sounding material from tracks that are plagued with noise, there are times were pulling usable audio from incredibly noisy tracks is simply not possible. Sounds that vary over time are especially problematic and often do not respond well to noise reduction techniques.
